She’s used her extensive herbal practice and background in teaching to make looking at human health, anatomy, and herbal therapies approachable for those of us who’s eyes boggle when folks whip out all that scientific language.
At the same time, she’s offered a deep and comprehensive enough treatment of the various body systems and their herbal allies to help nurses, nurse practitioners, doctors, and other medical professionals a solid guide to using herbs with their patients. I particularly loved the recipes and practices sprinkled through out the text. Each is perfectly placed amidst the condition for which it was designed, making it easy to take solidify your understanding of the condition and it’s therapy by taking action. For those of us with more experience, it’s a terrific support for deeper learning as well as a great reference for those times when we need to draw on scientific understanding to discuss herbal protocols with our clients or students.
